CAREER ABROAD IS A CHOICE OR HELPLESSNESS
The
policy of disregarding Talent and Quality is a deliberate attempt to frustrate
the Talent and quality at the expense of the Nation. Every sector including
higher education has gone for a six out of the stadia due to our system and these policies. Kindly
remember that this system is made by us. Therefore, the onus is also on us.
The
impact of our policies can be seen on our premier educational institutions such
as IITs. They are no more the Benchmark for Talent and Quality and overall
Institutes of excellence in education and research. The proof is the list of
ten public institutes and ten privately managed institutions announced by the
Government of India in April, 2020 as the Institutes of Excellence (IoE).
Kindly note that only four IITs (Delhi, Madras, Kharagpur and Bombay) out of
twenty-three IITs have been listed. There is none listed from the thirty NITs.
The Empowered Expert Committee (EEC) which was assigned with the selection of
the institutes and later with monitoring them didn’t find IIT Kanpur, IIT
Roorkee and IIT Guwahati worth considering.
Ten
privately managed institutions declared as IoE further prove the point of IITs
losing the sheen. No one is interested in arresting this downward slide of IITs
and NITs as inferred from the list released by EEC.
Possibility
of respect for the Talent and Quality is almost impossible or it’s like day
dreaming. Therefore, there is no option other than going abroad for the disregarded
talent with the erect spine and self-esteem. Reversal of trend seems almost
impossible and will continue for many many more years to come.
Hope some responsible custodians will definitely see beyond their self-interests.
This trend of disregarding Talent and Quality will continue in future also. It takes time to change things. The youth can definitely see beyond their self-interests but at what cost. Every single child is told to earn money instead of gaining knowledge. Research studies are disregarded in this country unless you come from a family who understands the importance of research education or the child itself is deeply interested in research.
