TIME FOR EDUCATED (NOT LITERATE) PERSONS TO MANAGE THE COUNTRY

TIME FOR EDUCATED (NOT LITERATE) PERSONS TO MANAGE THE COUNTRY

We all educated must think seriously (It is the need of the hour). The first step is to ensure 100% guaranteed defeat for all those POLITICIANS who file papers from more than one constituency. This is the proof that all such politicians are not contesting to serve you but they are contesting to serve themselves. Jago Indians Jago.

Else make election impossible by filing as many independent candidates (may be all voters) against such politicians. Election Commission will find it impossible to conduct election in any of the constituencies from where such OPPORTUNISTIC politicians file papers.

  1. The rule of limiting the candidate to contesting from a maximum of two seats was introduced in 1996 through an amendment to the Representation of the People Act (RP Act) of 1951. Before this law, leaders were allowed to contest from as many seats as they could. The solution to this does not lie in asking the winning leader or party to pay for the by-election. A monetary penalty will not deter these so-called larger-than-life leaders from contesting from multiple seats. But apart from money, it is a waste of time for lakhs of voters. It is also not fair to upcoming leaders, who have to vacate space to so that the bigger leaders can get their second seats. This is a violation of principle of equality, bringing to mind the Orwellian saying: “All are equal, but some are more equal than others.” The only way out is to make a leader’s candidature void if he or she files a nomination from more than one constituency. Like “one person, one vote”, the principle of “one leader, one constituency” should also be followed. Indeed, Section 70 of the RP Act prevents a leader from holding on to more than one seat. So, there can be no rationale in allowing a candidate to file nominations from more than one constituency.

  2. Very rightly said. Let us build pressure on the Election Commission for introducing "One leader One constituency" concept.
